World Pulse · Effective 12 September 2026

World Pulse is a global news app built around an interactive globe. We keep data collection to a minimum. This policy explains what is processed and why.

No account, no profile

You can use World Pulse without registering. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number, and we build no profile of you — what Google's ad network does in the free edition is described below.

Data stored only on your device

Your saved articles (favourites), chosen language, colour theme and server address are stored locally on your device and are never sent to us.

Two editions, and what that means for ads

World Pulse exists twice on Google Play. The paid edition (es.evolutiongame.worldpulseapp) shows no ads and does not even contain an advertising SDK. The free edition (es.evolutiongame.worldpulse) is paid for by advertising: it shows banner ads, native ads inside the article lists, and a full-screen ad when you open a story. They are served by Google AdMob.

In the free edition Google and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier together with technical data — device type, the coarse location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with the ads — to select and measure those ads, as described in how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We never pass them your saved articles, your searches, or any identifier of our own.

Where consent is required by law (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) the free edition asks for it through Google's certified consent message the first time it runs, and you can change your answer whenever you like from Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy options. Your device settings also let you reset or delete the advertising identifier entirely.

Purchase

The paid edition is bought on Google Play before the app is installed: payment details never reach us, we receive no purchase token, and the app itself contains no payment screen and no billing SDK. The free edition asks for no payment at all. We hold no billing data of any kind about you.

Usage statistics

We collect aggregate, anonymous usage events to understand how the app is used: which topics and countries are viewed, search terms, the time of requests and the interface language. These first-party events are not linked to your identity and we do not store your IP address or any device identifier with them.

We also use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure aggregate usage such as active users, retention, app version and approximate geographic region. This is off by default: nothing is collected unless you turn it on from Settings → Privacy, and you can turn it off again at any time. Google processes this data as described in its privacy policy; see also Firebase privacy and how Google uses Analytics data.

Third-party services

To provide content we contact: news sources (RSS/Google News), Open-Meteo (weather), the World Bank (economic indicators) and Google's translation endpoint (headline/summary translation). These receive only the technical request needed (e.g. coordinates for weather), not your identity.

Data retention & your rights

Anonymous statistics are kept only in aggregate. Because we hold no personal account data, there is nothing personal to export or delete on our side; local data is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. If you ever want to ask us something about your data, write to the address below.

Children

World Pulse is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change accordingly.
